When we were going to catch the train to go from Amdabad to Udiapur, I slid off the taxi’s running board and hurled myself to the ground in their gravel lot. I was trying to get out with my very heavy camera/computer bag on my shoulder and the force really smashed me down. Once we got on board, I noticed my forearm near my elbow was swelling quite a bit. Luckily, I had some of those cold/heat packs along that I had gotten in case Keith’s ankle acted up. So I pressed one of those onto the big ole bump and tried to sleep. By morning a nice huge bruise was beginning to show up.
Since then, I have had Keith document its range of colors. I was lucky that I did not break something. But this bruise is the champion of bruises. It looks like I have some sort of birth coloration defect. People look at me like I am a bit disfigured. This could be in my head. (See Keith's posts for the images.)
It is still tender but all is working and it has not slowed me down. I will ask Keith to post the beauty shots.
Today I am a bit under the weather with intestinal cramps and the trots. I have taken the mighty Cipro and am awaiting its magic. I guess if I die in Varanasi, Keith has handy cremation folks and the river to toss my ashes in. God I hate to get sick while traveling. So this morning, I am going to take it easy on the balcony and wait for it to move its way on through.
